Serena Williams Wants Gold Medal, then Acting Career

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., resident Serena Williams will be 30 years old when she contests the 2012 Olympics in tennis on grasscourts in London -- old by tennis standards -- but the current world No. 1 says she will still be playing the game in an attempt to win gold for the first time.

"I would love to win the gold medal in the London Olympics," she told Sky News. "Any type of medal would be great, but I've never won an Olympic gold, so that's my long-term goal."

The younger Williams sister has won 21 Grand Slam titles in singles and doubles, and this year broke the all-time prize money earning record formerly held by Justine Henin.

And after tennis? Williams would like to pick up on acting in major and minor roles, as she did in 2005 with an appearance on the medical television show E.R., where her character died.

"I really enjoy acting," she said. "I like being in front of the camera. I think I should be an action star. I always wanted to die in acting and then I died (in E.R.) and I was miserable. I was like, 'I don't wanna die anymore,' so my dying in acting career is over. Now I'm moving on to more action roles. I can do a real mean chop and a kick and I can jump high and run fast and cartwheel."

She is currently touring internationally to promote her new autobiography, On the Line.
